A diet rich in beans, lentils, chickpeas, and soy can reduce the risk of high blood pressure by almost a third. Researchers found that eating around 170g per day of legumes and 60-80g per day of soy food can have this effect. This is equivalent to about five to six tablespoons of cooked beans, peas, or chickpeas per day.
