England is close to becoming one of the first countries to eradicate hepatitis C, with deaths linked to the virus falling by 36% over the last decade. By expanding testing in A&Es and GP surgeries, the NHS has treated over 100,000 people since 2015 - a significant step toward meeting global health targets to eliminate the virus by 2030.
