Earlier version of Stonehenge found three miles from the original site in Wiltshire
Archaeologists have uncovered a much simpler, older version of Stonehenge about three miles from the famous monument. The site, dated to around 5,000 years old, consists of two post pits that once held wooden poles aligned with the summer and winter solstices. The discovery suggests prehistoric people in the area were already tracking the Sun's movements long before the construction of Stonehenge itself.
