The glutinous snail, once widespread across the UK, is now found only in Llyn Tegid in Eryri National Park. Conservationists are working with zoos to create new 'ark' populations using snails bred in a Ceredigion garden, helping to ensure the survival of this rare species after its decline due to water pollution and habitat loss.
