Community group buys historic Wamphray Church to keep it in public hands
The Friends of Wamphray Church have raised £45,000 to purchase their local 19th-century church from the Church of Scotland, preventing it from being sold to a private buyer. The building, which houses an 8th-century stone cross, will now remain open for services and community use for years to come.
