Archaeologists and detectorists have unearthed a rare crux penny featuring Ethelred the Unready in Nesting, marking the northernmost Anglo-Saxon coin ever found in the UK. The discovery suggests historical trading links between Viking-controlled Shetland and Anglo-Saxon England, or potentially the remnants of a Norse raid. The find is currently undergoing analysis by the University of Aberdeen before a decision is made on its inclusion in the Shetland Museum and Archives.
