Hull's Blitz-damaged National Picture Theatre restored to its 1914 design
The Grade II-listed National Picture Theatre in Hull has been restored after standing as a ruin since a 1941 Luftwaffe air raid. By stabilising the original brickwork and conserving wartime features, the project preserves a site where 150 people famously survived a direct hit during a film screening.
