A new 120-mile footpath stretching from Alston to Furness Abbey launches on 15 September, connecting the North Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Lake District. Developed by the local council, the six-stage route is designed to be accessible via public transport and aims to link visitors and residents with the region's natural landscapes.
