Norfolk farmer restores wildflower meadow by letting nature take its course
After farmer Derek Sayer stopped intensive farming on a four-acre field in north Norfolk, the land naturally transformed from a single-crop oilseed rape site into a diverse habitat with over 150 plant species. By simply cutting the grass once a year, the meadow has recovered without the need for expensive commercial seed mixes, offering a low-cost model for restoring the UK's lost wildflower grasslands.
