A new synchronous condenser at the Pembroke power station is now providing the inertia needed to keep the electricity system stable as Britain shifts towards renewable sources. By replacing the role traditionally held by fossil fuel generators, this project is the first of sixteen planned installations designed to strengthen energy security and reduce costs for consumers.
