A project in Lochaber has received £108,000 to map and conserve rare mountain woodland, including juniper and the globally-endangered whortle-leaved willow. By establishing a nursery and protecting these fragmented habitats from overgrazing, the initiative aims to restore ecosystems that stabilise slopes and regulate water flow in some of Scotland's most remote landscapes.
