Torridon becomes Scotland's newest National Nature Reserve
NatureScot has granted National Nature Reserve status to a 5,100-hectare area of Wester Ross, stretching from the shores of Loch Torridon to the peaks of Beinn Alligin and Liathach. This designation provides long-term protection for the region's native woodlands, rare plants, and upland wildlife, ensuring the landscape is managed for nature conservation over the next two centuries.
