Researchers from the University of Aberdeen and NHS North of Scotland are launching a screening programme for individuals with ancestral links to Westray and Whalsay. By identifying specific BRCA gene variants through a simple saliva test, the initiative allows people to access preventative care and counselling before they become unwell.
