Steven Thompson initially feared an official-looking letter was a speeding fine, only to discover he had been awarded a British Empire Medal in the King's Birthday Honours. The honour recognises over 30 years of voluntary work at Fairwood Waterloo Rugby Club, where he has coached generations of players.
