Mark Wrenn, who had been dependent on oxygen due to a rare lung condition, has become the first patient to receive a transplant via the Newcastle Organ Assessment Hub. The facility uses perfusion technology to keep donated organs viable for longer, increasing the number of transplants available to those in need.
