Led by Sabir Khalid, the Kurdish House volunteer group has grown to nearly 100 members who spend their Tuesdays and Wednesdays cleaning streets in the West End. The initiative began as a way for the community to show gratitude for the welcome they have received in Newcastle, and now operates in partnership with the local council to improve the area for everyone.
