Autumn sunshine could extend a record-breaking year for British butterflies
Following one of the best butterfly seasons this century, warm autumn weather is allowing several species to produce an extra generation before winter. This includes the rare Queen of Spain fritillary, which may see more adults emerge along the south and east coasts if October remains sunny.
