Somerset cheesemaker Barber’s cuts carbon emissions by using heat from fresh milk
Barber’s Farmhouse Cheesemakers has installed heat pumps that cool milk while simultaneously heating water for milking operations. By halving electricity use, the farm is saving £70,000 annually and cutting carbon emissions by 66 tons a year - a practical step toward decarbonising food production.
