Bayeux Tapestry goes on display at the British Museum for the first time
The 70-metre-long 11th-century embroidery has arrived in London from France, marking the first time the historic artefact has left its home in nearly a millennium. It will remain on display for ten months, offering the public a rare chance to view the detailed account of the events surrounding the Battle of Hastings.
