Nearly 1,000 years after it was created, the 70m-long Bayeux Tapestry has arrived at the British Museum for a temporary exhibition. The historic embroidery, which depicts the 1066 Norman conquest, is on loan from Normandy while its home museum undergoes renovations - offering the public a rare chance to see the artefact in the country where it was originally made.
