After a century-long absence, glowworms have been spotted at Nosterfield nature reserve following a volunteer-led reintroduction programme. Ecologist Pete Cooper and local volunteers reared larvae in a garden shed before releasing them, proving that the site can support the species' full life cycle - a vital step in helping the declining beetle recover in the British countryside.
