Eleven-year-old Alyssa Ferrie starts high school after pioneering heart valve procedure
Alyssa Ferrie from Bargeddie has become one of the first children in Scotland to receive a self-expanding VenusP valve through a minimally invasive procedure. By avoiding the need for further open-heart surgery, she has recovered quickly enough to join her friends for the start of the new school term.
