After facing strict licensing requirements that threatened to close small-scale honesty-box businesses, Maidstone bakers can now operate under a new pilot scheme. The council has reduced the annual fee to £75 and removed the need for DBS checks, providing a sustainable path for residents to continue selling homemade goods.
