First of ten new Elizabeth line trains enters passenger service

The first of ten additional Elizabeth line trains has begun carrying passengers to help manage rising demand on the UK's busiest railway. These new carriages will initially support the network while existing trains undergo mid-life maintenance, before eventually allowing for an increase in service frequency by late 2027.
