Jack Cope, a 30-year-old joiner from Bedford, has lived with hereditary angioedema since birth, a condition that caused frequent, painful swelling and regular emergency hospital visits. After participating in a trial at Addenbrooke's Hospital, he has gone nearly a year without an attack, allowing him to return to his trade and daily life without the constant threat of severe symptoms.
