When a French fishing vessel ran aground on rocks near Dingle Harbour during gale-force winds, the 14-strong crew faced the risk of their boat capsizing. Pilot Jim O'Neill and the crew of Rescue Helicopter 115 successfully brought all 14 men to safety, an action for which O'Neill has now been presented with the Billy Deacon Memorial award.
