Blue plaque unveiled at the former Surrey home of Paddington Bear creator Michael Bond
A blue plaque has been installed at Fairacre in Haslemere, the house where Michael Bond wrote several of his Paddington Bear books between 1968 and 1978. The unveiling was attended by Bond's daughter, Karen Jankel, and has prompted local discussions about commissioning a permanent statue to celebrate the author's connection to the town.
