A motorist driving between Aycliffe and Darlington discovered a seagull wedged behind his numberplate after travelling eight miles at motorway speeds. Darlington Bird Rescue extracted the bird, which escaped with only minor bruising and damaged feathers - a fortunate outcome that will allow for its eventual release.
