Twenty-two-year-old Jack Whaley from Conisbrough has become only the third Englishman to win the US Amateur Championship after defeating Jay Leng Jr at Merion. Following his victory, Whaley was invited to donate a memento to the USGA archives, joining a historic list of winners that includes Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.
