The UK Intellectual Property Office has granted Altilium a patent for its EcoCathode process, which recovers and regenerates battery-grade materials from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. By converting shredded battery waste into reusable cathode materials domestically, the method aims to reduce the UK's reliance on imported minerals and lower the environmental impact of battery production.
