Donegal runner Mark English secured his first European gold medal after overtaking Croatia's Marino Bloudek in the final 100 metres at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium. The 33-year-old, who previously held bronze medals from 2014 and 2022, has now become the first Irish man to win a gold medal at the European Athletics Championships.
