Staffordshire-based manufacturer JCB has set a new land speed record for hydrogen-powered vehicles at the Bonneville Salt Flats. By developing its own hydrogen combustion engine, the company is testing the viability of the fuel as a low-carbon alternative to diesel for heavy industrial machinery.
