A multimillion-pound power link between the UK and Ireland was rerouted after hundreds of Harry Potter fans contacted developers to protect a memorial to the character Dobby at Freshwater West beach. The cable, which forms part of the £430m Greenlink interconnector, was moved to ensure the site remains undisturbed for the many visitors who travel there to pay their respects.
