The Cheltenham Escarpment has been designated as a National Nature Reserve, securing 60 hectares of land known for its 170-million-year-old Jurassic fossils and limestone grassland. The site is home to at least 33 butterfly species, including the rare Duke of Burgundy, and this new status will support ongoing conservation and public access along the Cotswold Way.
