Solar energy provided 14.4% of Great Britain's electricity in July, surpassing the previous monthly record of 12.4% set earlier this year. With over 142,000 new installations completed in the first half of 2025, the growth in rooftop solar is helping to reduce domestic energy bills and increase the share of renewable power on the national grid.
