Following a ship collision at the Port of Tyne that released millions of plastic pellets into the water, up to 2,000 volunteers have been sifting through sand across the north-east coastline to remove them. This community-led effort aims to mitigate the environmental impact on local beaches while authorities work to ensure the shipowners address the pollution.
