Pigs introduced to Derbyshire nature reserve to help restore local biodiversity
Three pigs have been brought to Lea Wood near Cromford to clear dense bracken and turn over soil through their natural rooting behaviour. By mimicking the role of wild boar, these animals will create new microhabitats for plants and insects - a practical step in helping the reserve's ecosystem recover.
