The Ballinderry Rivers Trust has successfully managed to keep giant hogweed at a minimum around Drum Manor Forest Park, preventing the invasive plant from spreading further in the area. By working with local angling clubs to raise awareness, the project is helping to curb the presence of the plant, which can cause severe skin blistering and scarring. This effort contributes to a wider Northern Ireland target to reduce the distribution of the species by 50% before 2030.
