World's deepest vertical farm opens inside a disused Yorkshire mine

A new vertical farm has begun operations 120 metres underground in a former mine shaft in North Yorkshire. By using controlled conditions deep beneath the surface, the facility aims to grow produce year-round with significantly reduced energy and water consumption.
