Focal therapy for prostate cancer matches surgery outcomes with fewer side effects
A 10-year study of 3,500 men has found that focal therapy is as effective as traditional surgery or radiotherapy for treating prostate cancer. The treatment, which uses ultrasound or freezing to target cancerous tissue, significantly reduces the risk of long-term side effects and could offer a better quality of life for thousands of patients currently eligible for the procedure.
