Merseyside will host The Open at least three more times over the next 25 years, following a new agreement between the Liverpool City Region and The R&A. The tournament, which is currently taking place at Royal Birkdale, will continue to bring economic benefits to the area, with previous events estimated to have generated £200 million for local businesses and communities.
