Jill Halfpenny has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters by Northumbria University in recognition of her career in screen and stage, as well as her work in opening public conversations about grief. She is one of 14 people receiving honours this summer, highlighting the university's ongoing connection to local figures who have made significant contributions to the North East.
