Children aged eight and nine to use airport eGates under new rule change
From 8 July, children aged eight and nine will be able to use eGates at UK airports and juxtaposed border controls in Paris and Brussels. By lowering the minimum age, the government aims to reduce queue times for up to 1.5 million families, helping to make the return journey through border control faster during the summer holidays.
