While thousands of visitors flock to the iconic red gates in Woolton each year, many are unaware that the site has been run by the Salvation Army for 90 years. The venue now uses its visitor attraction to fund the Steps to Work programme, which helps young adults with learning differences and mental health challenges find employment.
