Salvation Army volunteers helped support emergency services following a train collision near Bedford in June. They provided food, drinks and welfare support to staff at the scene from Friday evening until Sunday. The charity's work at the site was recently acknowledged by Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander, who met with volunteers and emergency workers involved in the response.
