English Heritage takes over Housesteads Roman Fort to improve visitor experience
English Heritage has taken over the management of Housesteads Roman Fort on Hadrian's Wall from the National Trust, aiming to simplify the visitor experience. The change, effective today, will see English Heritage also manage the visitor centre, farmhouse, and associated services. The move is part of a broader plan to improve accessibility, interpretation, and sustainability at the site, supported by a £286,623 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
