A 15-year study in Devon has shown that 94% of swifts return to the exact same nest site annually, demonstrating a stronger loyalty to their home than to their breeding partners. As the species faces a 70% population decline due to the loss of traditional nesting spots, these findings highlight the necessity of installing swift bricks in new developments to help secure their future.
