Pat Rudge, a much-loved teacher from Lydiate, is retiring this summer after 40 years in education, including 37 years at St Cecilia's Catholic Primary School in Tuebrook. Having taught generations of Liverpool families, she said walking away from the classroom has been more emotional than expected. She first considered teaching after a positive experience with a junior teacher, though she jokes she once wanted to be a witch to deal with her sister.
