A group of farmers has partnered with scientists on the Slimers project to develop computer models that predict slug activity in arable fields. By using these maps to target their efforts, growers have been able to halve the amount of slug pellets required, helping to cut costs and reduce the environmental impact of pesticides on UK crops.
