Trinity College gardeners recreate John Ray’s 17th-century botanic garden in Cambridge
Gardeners at Trinity College have reimagined the historic garden planted by 17th-century naturalist John Ray to mark the 400th anniversary of his birth. By using a 1690 engraving and Ray’s own botanical records, the team has restored the space where the man known as the father of natural history first began his systematic study of plants.
